To be eligible for AGRICET, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have completed a two-year diploma in Agriculture, Seed Technology, or Organic Farming from:
  • Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), or
  • Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU).
• Final-year diploma students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their diploma before the counseling process.

Age Criteria

• Minimum Age: 17 years
• Maximum Age:
  • 22 years for General/OBC candidates
  • 25 years for SC/ST candidates
  • 27 years for Physically Challenged (PwD) candidates

Note: Age limits are calculated as of the admission year, and candidates must provide valid proof during counseling.

AGRICET is a pen-and-paper-based (offline) exam conducted in the morning session. The exam aims to evaluate the candidates' understanding of core subjects related to agriculture, seed technology, and organic farming.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• General/OBC Candidates: 25% (3030 out of 120120 marks)
• SC/ST Candidates: No minimum cut-off, but admission depends on seat availability and merit ranking.

Seat Distribution

• Local Category: 85% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh.
• Non-Local (Unreserved) Category: 15% seats are allocated for non-local candidates.
• Seat Division During Counseling:
  • 65% seats for the Convener Quota (filled through counseling based on AGRICET merit).
  • 35% seats for Management Quota in affiliated private agricultural colleges.
